Modern boats and historical buildings: Nelson’s Dockyards

SAIL BACK IN TIME …
Visit English Harbour and take a glimpse into Antigua’s rich naval history. After a stop at Cades Reef for snorkeling we continue the trip to the famous historical Nelson Dockyards. Built under the tenure of famous Admiral Nelson in the 1770s these buildings have continuously been used for maritime activities ever since, until the mid 19th century for the British Navy, then for yachting and private vessels. Today it still is one of the most unique marinas in the Caribbean and beyond.

… AND THEN INTO THE SUNSET
After a stroll among the charming stone buildings and amazing boats docked in the marina and a cup of coffee or cool drink we set sail again for the last leg of the trip back to Jolly Harbour. Going due West on a gentle run with the wind we literally sail into the sunset.
